POSITION: ASSISTANT MANAGER ICT DEVELOPER (NATURAL / ADABAS) UNIT: INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT)
REFERENCE NUMBER: CS/07/02
SALARY (PER ANNUM): R 457,458
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
- A 3-year National Diploma or bachelor’s degree in information and communication technology or equivalent qualification
- Must have a minimum of 3 years software development experience using Natural and Adabas
- Good knowledge of Natural/Adabas utilities and tools
- Knowledge of Adabas database and database design
- Strong knowledge of computer fundamentals which include MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook.
DUTIES
- Analyse, design, develop and maintain mainframe Information and Communication Technology systems using Natural/Adabas
- Team player in a small development/maintenance team
- System analysis and design
- Facilitate and lead JAD sessions
- Testing of systems
- Provide training to end users
- The applicant must be able to work under pressure and meet very strict deadlines (from time to time it might be required of you to work outside normal working hours and on public holidays)
- Monthly progress reporting on assigned activities
- Presentation, communication, writing and administrative skills.
Additional advantages and Skills:
- Completed a recognised Natural Programming course
- Completed a Natural One course or have experience with this IDE will be an advantage
- Sound knowledge of system development and systems analysis
- Strong knowledge of computer fundamentals which include: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint; MS Outlook.
- Knowledge and understanding of the rules/regulations and the certification/examination processes for the National Senior certificate, National Certificate Vocational and GET certificate will be an advantage.
