POSTS: PUMPING ASSISTANTS X9

Location: Springs, Gauteng
Division: Modder East

QUALIFYING CRITERIA:

Grade 11 or equivalent qualification
Proficient in English and any other of the 11 official languages
Applicant must possess good verbal communication skills
Good knowledge of underground water pumps will be advantageous
1-2 years’ experience in mining environment will be advantageous
South African Citizenship
Clear Criminal Record

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide efficient support within Engineering (Pumping) section
Ensure all the pumps in area of responsibility are in good and operational order
Report any pump failure(s) immediately to avoid flooding of working ends and travelling ways
Assist in repairing and in extending of delivery pipes
Ensure and maintain good housekeeping in and around the area of responsibility to maximise pump efficiency
Assist in installation of pumps, maintenance and relocations
Always take instructions from the supervisor(s) responsible for the shift
Conduct all work according to required standards and specifications
Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1 Group’s safety motto : “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”
