Anglo American, through its Kumba Iron Ore division, is calling on South African youth to seize the opportunity to build a career in engineering and mining. Applications for this learnership close on 31 October 2025, and selected candidates will be placed at Kolomela and Sishen operations for structured training.
What the Programme Offers
The Engineering Learnership Programme runs for 36–39 months. Learners will benefit from hands-on workplace exposure, classroom training, and the chance to earn recognised qualifications. This programme is specifically designed to prepare candidates for skilled roles in the mining and engineering sector.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Be a South African Citizen with a valid South African ID.
- Be aged 18–35 years.
- Hold a Driver’s License.
- Be currently unemployed.
- Provide proof of residential address.
- Pass a Fitness Assessment and RFA (Risk Fitness Assessment).
In addition, there are subject and grade requirements depending on the trade applied for:
