  • Are in Grade 12 (matric) or have recently completed it
  • Are enrolling (or already enrolled) full-time in a BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geochemistry, or Geology at an accredited SA university.
  • Have achieved at least 75% in Mathematics and Physical Science (or similar)—some sources note an alternate minimum of 70% depending on the year
  • Can demonstrate both academic merit and financial need, with priority given where Black Economic Empowerment considerations apply
