THE ROLE:
A mining machinery operator learner at a coal mine trained to operate various UG mining machinery related to producing coal in an Underground production section. Working under the supervision of experienced miners and operator this programme will allow the learner to obtain the necessary training and experience to operate machinery in a UG production environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Operate UG Mining Machinery
- Assist in maintaining good housekeeping standards in mining area
- Perform any other duties in and around your area of work as per operational requirement
- Identifying faults without supervision
- Attend training interventions related to operating machinery
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Grade 10 (Math, Science and English)
- Must be willing and able to be trained on various mining machinery
- High regard for safety regulations, policies, and standards with an excellent safety record
- Have the ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Must be prepared to do a practical driving assessment and be deemed competent
- Must be willing to undergo a behavioral assessment
- Be able to cope with pressure in a production environment
- Must not be afraid to work at heights or of large machinery
- Must be able to work in a team
- In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness
Advantageous:
- Previous mining experience
- Have a valid K53 driver’s license
