The Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Permanent Artisan Assistant Vacancies (X5 Posts). The closing date for applications is the 16th June 2023

JOB PURPOSE:

To maintain Parks facilities, playground equipment and buildings of JCPZ.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Complete own worksheet and follow checklist
• Installation of bins and benches within JCPZ parks
• Repairing of palisade and colonial fencing
• Welding and fencing
• Repairing of damaged walls
• Repairing of damaged paving
• Manufacturing of concrete main whole covers
• Clean work area to specifications
• Relay messages between operations
• Assess condition of work
• Work according to checklist
• Clean working tools
• Put all equipment in designated areas
• Report all deviations, incident & hazardous conditions
• Follow PPE compliance
• Attend daily, weekly or monthly staff meetings
• Utilise specified tools and equipment
• Relay messages between operations
• Participate in personal development plan formulation
• Follow personal development plan
• Followed structured reading list and/or development initiatives
• Seek new ideas and work procedures to exceed expectations.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 10
• 1 – 2 years’ working experience as Artisan Assistant
• English proficiency.
