The Department of Water and Sanitation invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for their Principal Operator Vacancies (X9 Posts). The closing date for applications is the 18th December 2024

POSTS: PRINCIPAL OPERATORS X9

Branch: Infrastructure management
Chief Directorate: Construction management
Salary: R216 417.00 per annum (Level 5)
Centre: Construction West (Potchefstroom) Standard Contract

REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate must be in possession of a valid and appropriate license as legally required to operate the relevant machines.
Must be able to operate and perform operational tests on at least two of the machines: front-end loader larger than 2,4 cubic metres, excavator larger than 1,5 cubic metres, bulldozer larger than 105 kW, road grader larger than 145 kW, bucket and dumping truck larger than 20 tons payload plus 4 appropriate experiences.
Must have good communication skills and must be willing to work irregular hours.
Strong knowledge of traffic laws, maintenance knowledge and problem-solving skills.
Have good observation skills.

DUTIES:

The incumbent will be responsible for operating the following machine TLB.
Ensure the compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Report faults in writing to the supervisor and do follow up on tests and work progress.
Ensure maintenance and cleanness of the machine.
Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor.
