Are you a young South African eager to build a career in retail? The Pepkor Lifestyle W&RSETA Funded Learnership Programme offers a powerful opportunity to gain both workplace experience and an accredited qualification — all while earning a stipend.

Pepkor Lifestyle, one of the leading divisions of the Pepkor Group, runs this learnership initiative in partnership with the Wholesale & Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA). It is specifically designed to uplift unemployed youth by equipping them with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to succeed in the retail industry.

We are looking for young, vibrate and passionate individuals to partake on a 12-month Wholesale & Retail SETA funded Learnership. These individuals will play an exciting role in growing their career in the Pepkor Lifestyle (HiFi Corporation, Incredible Connection, Bradlows, Sleepmasters, Russells and Rochester).

Aspects to be covered during Learnership in store (12 Months)

  • Assist customer on the shop floor (Customer service)
  • Marketing and Merchandise and maintain displays
  • English language fundamentals
  • Math fundamentals
  • Recording transactions and processing payment on the POS System
  • Understanding the wholesale and retail environment
  • Opening new accounts
  • Maintaining and controlling stock losses

 

 

What Does the Learnership Offer?

Participants in the programme receive:

  • Accredited training aligned with NQF Level 2–5 qualifications.
  • Hands-on experience at well-known Pepkor brands such as Shoe City, Refinery, Dunns, and Tekkie Town.
  • Monthly stipend to assist with transport and living expenses.
  • National certification upon successful completion, opening doors to permanent employment or further studies.

Who Can Apply?

This opportunity is open to South African youth who meet the following criteria:

  • Aged between 18 and 35 years old.
  • Currently unemployed.
  • Completed Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Passionate about fashion, customer service, and retail operations.
  • Willing to commit to 12 months of both theoretical and practical learning.

 

 

HOW TO APPLY:

Candidates will be required to submit the following documents when they register:

  • An updated CV
  • Certified copies (not older than 3 months) of ID, certificates/qualifications, transcript/tertiary results (if applicable)
  • Candidates with disability should apply with a certified copy of Doctor’s certificate confirming the disability
