Who Can Apply?
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be South African citizens as per the South African Citizenship Act 88 of 1995
- Reside within the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality
- Be between 18 and 35 years old
- Be matric learners meeting the minimum admission requirements, OR
- Be 1st, 2nd, or final-year university students
- Not currently have a bursary, scholarship, or student loan
- Be historically disadvantaged and financially needy
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be assessed based on:
Academic Performance
- Science fields:
Minimum Level 5 (60–69%) in Mathematics and Physical Science - Other fields:
Minimum 60% average in Grade 12 results - Students who failed and are not promoted to the next level will not be considered
Equity & Financial Need
- Priority given to previously disadvantaged groups
- Applicants must meet means test requirements
