About the Commission for Gender Equality (CGE)

The CGE is a constitutional institution tasked with promoting and protecting gender equality across South Africa. Established in accordance with Section 187 of the Constitution, the CGE plays a critical role in monitoring, investigating, lobbying, advocating, educating, and researching issues related to gender equality. Internship Opportunities Available

The CGE Internship Programme is offering placements in the following key areas:

  1. Communications Internship

Gain practical experience in media relations, public awareness campaigns, stakeholder engagement, and digital content creation. Interns in this field will assist with:

  • Drafting press releases and official statements
  • Managing social media accounts and updating the CGE website
  • Supporting internal and external communication efforts
  • Monitoring media coverage related to gender issues
  1. Information Communications Technology (ICT) Internship

For tech-savvy graduates, this internship provides exposure to the ICT operations that keep CGE’s systems running smoothly. Interns will assist with:

  • IT support and troubleshooting
  • Network administration and cybersecurity protocols
  • Hardware and software maintenance
  • Assisting with data backups and digital record management
  1. Supply Chain Management (SCM) Internship

This stream is ideal for graduates in logistics, procurement, or finance who want to understand the inner workings of public sector supply chain processes. Interns will:

  • Assist in procurement planning and acquisition
  • Learn about compliance with PFMA and SCM regulations
  • Support vendor management and invoice processing
  • Help ensure timely delivery of goods and services
