ARC Animal Production Internship Programme for 2025

In the heart of South Africa’s agricultural innovation, the Agricultural Research Council – Animal Production (ARC-AP) division offers an invaluable opportunity for young graduates to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge research, sustainable farming practices, and animal husbandry. The ARC-AP Internship Programme is a strategic skills development initiative aimed at equipping graduates with the necessary tools to thrive in the agricultural and scientific sectors. For those with a passion for livestock production, animal nutrition, genetics, and sustainable agriculture, this programme is the ideal launching pad.

What is the ARC-AP Internship Programme?

The ARC-Animal Production internship is designed to offer practical experience and mentorship to graduates in agriculture, animal science, and related disciplines. Hosted at ARC facilities across South Africa, particularly at Irene Campus in Pretoria, the programme aims to address the skills gap in the sector by building capacity and nurturing future leaders in animal production science.

Interns are placed in various research projects and operational departments, where they assist with data collection, laboratory work, field trials, and other technical activities. The experience is both academic and industry-oriented, providing a holistic view of agricultural research and development.
