Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following:
- Grade 12 / Senior Certificate
- Computer literacy and attention to accuracy
- Recommendation/nomination letter as an ICCV from a community organisation (not older than six months)
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Sound knowledge of Batho Pele principles
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Assertiveness and professionalism
- Driver’s licence (advantageous)
Preference will be given to candidates living near the correctional centre.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will:
- Visit correctional centres daily
- Engage with inmates and officials regarding complaints
- Monitor incarceration conditions
- Report on deaths, segregation, mechanical restraints, and use of force
- Support JICS inspections and investigations
- Handle administrative tasks
- Capture inmate complaints
- Compile detailed reports
