This position has stricter requirements because it’s a mentorship/skills-based role.

  • Matric
  • South African resident
  • Residing in KZN
  • Proof of residence
  • 3 years tertiary qualification (Diploma/Degree in sport/fitness)
  • Age between 21–55 years
  • Or Recognition of Prior Learning: Grade 11 + at least 5 years proven experience as trainer/coach/sport assistant
  • Must be currently unemployed

Duties include:

  • Develop a database of emerging athletes
  • Monitor practice sessions
  • Mentor athletes for progression
  • Plan and coordinate talent activities/events
  • Attend Operations Sukuma Sakhe (OSS) War Room interventions

10) Sport & Recreation Coordinators (District-Based) – Stipend R3,000

Monthly stipend: R3,000

District allocations include posts in:
Amajuba, eThekwini Metro, Harry Gwala, iLembe, King Cetshwayo, Ugu, uMgungundlovu, uMkhanyakude, uMzinyathi, uThukela, Zululand.

Requirements include:

11) Sport, Art & Culture Mentors (By District) – Stipend R4,000

Monthly stipend: R4,000
Workstation: Multiple KZN districts

Requirements include:

  • Matric
  • South African resident
  • Residing in KZN
  • Proof of residence
  • Age between 21–55 years
  • 3 years tertiary qualification (Performing or Visual Arts – Creative Arts field)
  • Or RPL route: Grade 11 + at least 5 years proven experience as facilitator/trainer/coach
  • Must be currently unemployed

  • Build a database of emerging artists
  • Monitor rehearsals and progress
  • Mentor artists identified for progression
  • Plan and implement talent activities/events
  • Submit progress reports
