As part of its commitment to developing local talent and strengthening infrastructure, the municipality is offering student support opportunities aimed at nurturing the next generation of engineers. POST TITLE: CIVIL ENGINEERING STUDENTS X2

  • Reference Number: 4/1/2/6
  • Duration: 12 months fixed contract
  • Stipend: R9000.00 per month

Qualification and Experience:

  • Grade 12 qualification
  • Civil engineering learners with S4 who need in-service training to obtain Diploma/Degree in the Engineering field P1/P2 or completed S4 with no experience
  • Student Technicians who are from Mbhashe Local Municipality will be given first preference as part of capacity and youth employment under this programme

Key Performance Areas:

  • Create detailed plans and blueprints for construction projects, often using computer aided design (CAD) software
  • Assist on contraction projects from start to finish, ensuring they stay on schedule and within budget
  • Assist in conducting site visits to monitor progress, ensure compliance with plans and regulations and address any issues
  • Work with contractors, government officials and other stakeholders to ensure projects meet the requirements and standards
  • Assist in identifying and resolve technical issues that arise during construction
  • Monitor construction processes and ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Compile monthly progress report
  • Communicate with consultants, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure smooth protect execution
  • Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies to evaluate the viability of projects
