The Social Housing Regulatory Authority (SHRA) is opening doors for young South African graduates through its two-year Internship Programme. This initiative is designed to provide unemployed graduates under the age of 35 with valuable workplace exposure and practical experience, preparing them to thrive in professional environments.

By offering this opportunity, SHRA is not only investing in the career development of young professionals but also contributing towards reducing unemployment while supporting transformation within the housing sector. The programme is open to South African citizens who hold relevant tertiary qualifications from universities or universities of technology.

Internship Opportunities Available

The SHRA Internship Programme offers placements in different focus areas, ensuring that graduates gain experience in their respective fields of study. The current opportunities include:

  1. Supply Chain Management Intern (x1)
    • Required Qualification: A National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Procurement.
    • Role Focus: Supporting procurement processes, supplier relations, and compliance with supply chain policies.
  2. Sector Development and Transformation Intern
    • Required Qualification: A National Diploma or Degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Housing, or any related discipline.
    • Role Focus: Assisting with initiatives aimed at promoting transformation, sector growth, and sustainable housing development strategies.
  3. Legal Interns (x2 positions)
    • Required Qualification: An LLB Degree.
    • Role Focus: Supporting the legal department with regulatory compliance, policy interpretation, drafting legal documents, and research.

Programme Details

  • Duration: Two years (24 months).
  • Stipend: Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R11,172.49 to support them throughout the programme.
  • Eligibility: Applicants must be unemployed South African citizens under the age of 35, with no prior formal work experience in their field.
