The Robben Island Museum (RIM), a world-renowned heritage site and symbol of freedom and resilience, is inviting passionate and talented graduates to apply for its 2025 Graduate Internship Programme. This programme is designed to offer young professionals hands-on experience, professional mentorship, and career development opportunities within various critical departments of the museum.

The RIM Graduate Internship Programme provides a platform for graduates to gain practical knowledge while contributing to the preservation and promotion of South Africa’s rich heritage. Successful candidates will work alongside experts in their respective fields, supporting the museum’s mission to educate and inspire future generations.

Departments and Qualifications Required

  1. Heritage Department
  • Audio Visual / Multi-Media Studies
  • National Diploma in Nature Conservation
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Museum and Heritage Studies and Archives
  1. Office of the CEO
  • Bachelor’s degree in Legal/LLB
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration (Performance Planning & Evaluation)
  1. Marketing & Tourism
  • Diploma in Marketing
  • Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or Media Studies
  1. Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science (Librarian)

 

 

  1. Human Resources
  • National Diploma in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology
  • National Diploma in Health & Safety
  • Basic Life Support Qualification (registered with HPCSA), Code 10 Driver’s License with PrDP, and CPD compliance
  1. Finance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance
  1. Supply Chain Management (SCM)
  • Bachelor’s degree in SCM, Logistics, or Procurement
  1. Operations
  • National Diploma in Public Relations Management or Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
  • National Diploma in Travel & Tourism or BTech Facility Management
  • BEng/BSc in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • National Diploma in ICT, Information Systems, Computer Science, or certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA
