Mopani TVET College In-Service Training Programme for 2025

Mopani TVET College In-Service Training Programme for 2025

Mopani TVET College, located in Limpopo, is widely known for offering industry-relevant programmes that empower students with practical skills. One of its flagship initiatives is the Information Technology and Computer Science In-Service Training Programme, designed to bridge the gap between theoretical classroom learning and real-world ICT workplace experience.

This in-service training programme is tailored for students who have completed the theoretical components of their IT and Computer Science qualifications (NC(V) or Report 191 N4) and now need experiential training to fulfil the requirements for their National Diploma. The programme provides a crucial platform for learners to gain hands-on exposure to IT environments, network management, software troubleshooting, database handling, and system support within government departments, municipalities, and private sector companies.

Why Choose Mopani TVET College’s In-Service Training?

  1. Industry-Relevant Practical Training
The college partners with various government departments and ICT companies to ensure learners are exposed to current technologies and work practices. Training typically includes tasks like system configuration, technical support, cybersecurity awareness, and application development.
  2. Professional Development Support
Learners are assigned mentors and supervisors who monitor their progress, offer guidance, and ensure they acquire the core competencies needed for the IT sector. Additionally, workshops on CV writing, interview skills, and workplace readiness are offered to improve employability after the training.
  3. National Diploma Eligibility
Completion of this in-service training is a formal requirement for learners who want to apply for their National Diploma in Information Technology and Computer Science. Without it, graduates cannot claim their full qualification from the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).
  4. Stipend and Placement Support
Depending on the host organisation and available funding (such as SETAs or the National Skills Fund), students may receive a monthly stipend during their placement. Mopani TVET College also assists with placement where possible, although students are encouraged to seek opportunities independently as well.
