CRIME PREVENTION WARDENS (CPW) IN 90 POLICE STATIONS AT THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY SAFETY

The Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison hereby invites application for Crime Prevention Wardens, for a period of Twenty-Four (24) months. The closing date for applications is the 19th July 2024

POSTS: CRIME PREVENTION WARDENS (CPW)

• Stipend: In line with Public Employment Programmes (PEPs).

REQUIREMENTS:

• A Grade 10 — 12 report/certificate.
• Aged between 18 – 50 years
• The person must be physically fit.
• The ability to communicate in English and other official languages.
• To undergo Police Clearance (normal criminal record enquiry).
• Experience and participation in crime related structures/activities will be an added advantage.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Patrolling crime at hot spot areas.
• Do search and seizure activities in schools with the assistance of SAPS members.
• Assist in stop and search operations.
• Look out for any criminal suspicious activities within the community.
• Eliminate all elements of crime within the communities including all forms of lawlessness and vandalism.

• The CPW’s will be working under the supervision of South African Police Service (SAPS) People who are employed are not advised to apply; the programme is for unemployed people.
• Those appointed will be required to work in any other situation.
