TUT & ETDP-SETA Internship Programme for 2025

TUT & ETDP-SETA Internship Programme for 2025

The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), in collaboration with the Education, Training and Development Practices Sector Education and Training Authority (ETDP-SETA), is excited to announce an exclusive internship opportunity for its own graduates. This initiative is more than just a skills development programme — it’s a purposeful response to South Africa’s growing graduate unemployment challenge. Graduates from TUT who have not yet secured employment are invited to apply for this life-changing internship programme, which promises to deliver practical experience, mentorship, and meaningful workplace exposure.

Purpose of the Programme

At its core, the ETDP-SETA Internship Programme at TUT is designed to create temporary employment opportunities for unemployed youth who hold a tertiary qualification from the university. The programme specifically targets those who, despite earning a qualification, have found it difficult to break into the job market. It aims to bridge this gap by allowing them to gain the crucial work experience employers often demand, thus significantly boosting their future employability.

The initiative reflects TUT’s deep commitment to its graduates’ futures — offering them not only academic training but also a pathway into the professional world. The partnership with ETDP-SETA enables the university to provide these graduates with real workplace opportunities in a structured and well-supported environment.

Placement and Location

Interns will primarily be placed within the Pretoria Campus of TUT, depending on the operational needs of various departments. This campus-based approach ensures that graduates are in a familiar academic and administrative setting, allowing them to smoothly transition from learning to working while contributing meaningfully to the institution that shaped them.
