The Alfred Nzo District Municipality will fund the following scarce and critical skills:

Engineering & Built Environment

  • ND: Civil Engineering
  • National Diploma/Degree: Mechanical Engineering
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechatronics)
  • National Diploma Marine Engineering

Water & Environmental Sciences

  • BSc Environmental and Water Science
  • BSc Community Water Services and Sanitation
  • BSc Water Resource Management
  • National Diploma: Water and Science Technology

Planning, GIS & Disaster Management

Creative & Digital Fields

  • National Diploma/Degree in Graphic Art / Graphic Design

Important: Funding is strictly limited to the listed fields only.

Conditions of Eligibility (Who Qualifies?)

To be considered, applicants must meet ALL of the following:

  • Be between 16 and 35 years old
  • Reside within the Alfred Nzo District
  • Provide proof of residence from a Ward Councillor
  • Be financially needy and academically deserving
  • Intend to study or be registered at a recognised South African tertiary institution
  • Be studying (or planning to study) in one of the approved fields

Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged individuals, and proof must be provided.

Required Documents (Very Important!)

Your application will be automatically disqualified if documents are missing.

You must submit:

  • Motivation letter
  • Grade 12 certificate OR latest Grade 12 results (if currently in matric)
  • Proof of enrolment or acceptance letter from a recognised tertiary institution
  • Certified copy of ID
  • Proof of residence from your Ward Councillor
  • Parents’ proof of income
    • OR death certificates
    • OR affidavit if one or both parents are deceased

All copies must be certified.
