Are you a young person living in the Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality and dreaming of becoming an Electrician, Plumber, Welder or Diesel Mechanic?
The National Skills Fund (NSF) in partnership with Sekhukhune TVET College is offering exciting 36-month Apprenticeship opportunities for unemployed youth.

These programmes are designed to give local young people the technical skills, workplace exposure and qualifications needed to start a successful trade career.

About the National Skills Fund (NSF) & Sekhukhune TVET College

Sekhukhune TVET College, located in Limpopo, is one of South Africa’s leading TVET institutions known for producing skilled artisans and technicians. The College partners with government and industry to provide accredited training that leads to recognised trade qualifications.

Available Apprenticeship Programmes (36 Months)

  1. Electrician

Minimum Requirements:

  • NCV Level 2-4: Electrical Infrastructure Construction (21 subjects completed), OR
  • N2 – N6 Electrical Engineering (with N2 Electrical Trade Theory / N3 Electro Technology)
  1. Diesel Mechanic

Minimum Requirements:

  • NCV Level 2-4: Engineering Related Design (Automotive Repairs & Maintenance; 21 subjects completed), OR
  • N2 – N6 Mechanical Engineering (with N2 Diesel or Motor Trade Theory and/or N3 Mechano Technology)
  1. Welder

Minimum Requirements:

  • NCV Level 2-4: Engineering Related Design (Fabrication; 21 subjects completed), OR
  • N2 – N6 Mechanical Engineering (with N2 Plater Theory / N2 Welder Trade Theory and/or N3 Mechano Technology)
  1. Plumber

Minimum Requirements:

  • NCV Level 2-4: Civil Engineering & Building Construction (21 subjects completed; Plumbing as Vocational Subject), OR
  • N2 – N6 Civil Engineering (with N2 Plumbing Trade Theory)

 

 

Requirements

To apply, you must:

  • Be under 35 years old
  • Live within Elias Motsoaledi Local Municipality
  • Meet the qualification requirements listed above
  • Have completed NCV or N-courses in the relevant field
  • Be currently unemployed
  • Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply
  • Learners who previously studied at Sekhukhune TVET College will receive first preference

All applications will undergo an assessment process, and successful candidates will sign an ETQA Agreement and an Employment Contract for the apprenticeship duration.

Yes, but applicants from Sekhukhune TVET College are given preference.

  1. Will I be paid during the apprenticeship?

Yes, apprentices typically receive a stipend (amount determined by NSF and host employer).
