As a Grants Administrator, you’ll play a vital role in the end-to-end management of social grant applications and payments. Your core duties will include:

  • Application processing: Verify applicants’ eligibility, documentation and data accuracy in the SASSA system.
  • Customer support: Respond to inquiries—by phone, email or in person—helping beneficiaries understand grant types, payment dates and the appeals process.
  • Data management: Maintain up-to-date beneficiary records, flag discrepancies and generate monthly reports to track application volumes and payment disbursements.
  • Compliance & audit: Ensure all processes meet SASSA’s internal controls and National Treasury regulations, preparing documentation for audit reviews.

 

 

POST 1: GRANTS ADMINISTRATORS (LEVEL 05) (X2 POSTS)

SALARY: R228 321 – R268 950 p.a. exclusive of benefits

LOCATION: Bushbuckridge Local Office: (REF NO: SAS/MPU/25/16)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates should hold Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) plus a relevant National Diploma/ Degree (NQF Level 6) / Degree (NQF Level 7)
  • Computer literacy is essential.

Added advantage:

  • A Valid driver’s licence and / or administrative / clerical experience will be an added advantage.

DUTIES:

  • The incumbent will provide a grant customer care service;
  • Screen and capture grant applications including beneficiary maintenance functions effectively;
  • Administer medical bookings and assessments;
  • Provide off-site grant application services to clients;
  • Scanning and batching of grants files.

POST 2: SENIOR GRANTS ADMINISTRATORS (LEVEL 07) (X2 POSTS)

SALARY: R325 101 – R382 959 p.a. Exclusive of benefits

LOCATION: Bushbuckridge Local Office: (Ref No: SAS/MPU/25/17)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates should have a Senior Certificate plus an undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) as recognized by SAQA in the relevant field coupled with 3 years’ experience in Grants Administration
  • Computer literacy and a valid driver’s license are essential.

DUTIES:

  • The incumbent will conduct verification of grant applications (approval),
  • Oversee the quality of the administration of social grants by Grant Administrators and advise Grant Administrators on policies and process within grants value chain and supervise staff at Local Office level,
  • Check the completeness of documents and supporting documents; Verify applications and means test;
  • Approve or reject applications;
  • Process other grant documentation;
  • Perform other grants value chain functions;
  • Oversee the quality of the administration of social grants and advise on policies and processes within the grants value chain;
  • Manage staff performance and resources;
  • Ensure adherence to Section 57 of the Public Finance Management Act (PMFA, Chapter 6, Part 3).

 

 

POST 3: TEAM LEADER: GRANTS ADMINISTRATION (LEVEL 08) X1 POST

SALARY: R397 116 – R467 790 p.a. exclusive of benefits

LOCATION: Nkangala District: Dr JS Moroka Local Office: (REF NO: SAS/MPU/25/18)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates should have a Senior Certificate plus an undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6/7) in the relevant field as recognized by SAQA coupled with 3 years’ supervisory experience (Social Security)
  • Computer literacy and a valid driver’s license are essential.

Added advantage:

  • Understanding of Grants Administration
  • SASSA’s constitutional mandate
  • Relevant policies and legislation in the Public Service will be an added advantage.

DUTIES:

  • Coordination and supervision of various functional areas within the local office;
  • Promote Service Delivery initiatives to improve efficiency;
  • Management of staff at lower levels;
  • Implement norms and standards in the grants value chain
