Teacher Needed for a Special Care Centre
Bizweni Centre for Children with Disabilities is looking for a Teacher to supervise and manage the implementation of the daily programming of a class of 10 to 15 learners with various mental and physical disabilities. Applicant needs to be patient, committed and be passionate about children with disabilities.
Requirements for the Post
- Degree or Diploma in Education or Early Childhood Education
- Must be fluent in English – Afrikaans and IsiXhosa will be an added advantage
- Computer Literate – Microsoft Office
- Valid Driver’s license and own reliable transport is beneficial
- Qualification / Experience in Special / Remedial Education is beneficial but not a requirement
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate must have the ability to:
- Coordinate all educational activities and programmes for the class that will be assigned
- Assess, identify and where necessary develop remedial therapy programs
- Manage the day to day running of the class that will be assigned
- Manage and supervise Staff – Candidate needs a heart for monitoring and training staff
- Work within the context of a multi-disciplinary team
