 Teacher Needed for a Special Care Centre

Bizweni Centre for Children with Disabilities is looking for a Teacher to supervise and manage the implementation of the daily programming of a class of 10 to 15 learners with various mental and physical disabilities. Applicant needs to be patient, committed and be passionate about children with disabilities.

Requirements for the Post

  • Degree or Diploma in Education or Early Childhood Education
  • Must be fluent in English – Afrikaans and IsiXhosa will be an added advantage
  • Computer Literate – Microsoft Office
  • Valid Driver’s license and own reliable transport is beneficial
  • Qualification / Experience in Special / Remedial Education is beneficial but not a requirement

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must have the ability to:

  • Coordinate all educational activities and programmes for the class that will be assigned
  • Assess, identify and where necessary develop remedial therapy programs
  • Manage the day to day running of the class that will be assigned
  • Manage and supervise Staff – Candidate needs a heart for monitoring and training staff
  • Work within the context of a multi-disciplinary team

This full time position, which will start in 2021, will suit a responsible person who has sound communication and organizational skills and is prepared to work according to the Bizweni Centre for Children with Disabilities values. The candidate must be an excellent team worker
