Gert Sibande TVET College, in partnership with the Wholesale and Retail SETA (W&RSETA), has opened doors for youth eager to gain practical workplace exposure. The Work Integrated Learning (WIL) – In-service Training Programme (X20 posts) is specifically designed to support Business Studies graduates who require on-the-job experience to complete their qualifications and enhance their employability.
This initiative represents a powerful collaboration aimed at empowering unemployed youth, bridging the skills gap, and contributing to South Africa’s broader socio-economic development. If you hold a business-related qualification and are ready to take the next step, this opportunity is for you.
About the Programme
The WIL programme is an 18-month placement crafted to provide learners with hands-on exposure in their field of study. The training is targeted at South African citizens who are:
- Between the ages of 18 and 35 years
- Unemployed and not previously placed in any WIL programme for the same qualification
- Proficient in English and willing to learn, adapt, and grow in a professional environment
- Free from any criminal record
Through this structured learning experience, students will be able to apply their classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios, ensuring they graduate not just with a certificate but also with the skills employers demand.
Qualifications Required
Applicants must hold one of the following Business Studies qualifications:
- Business Management
- Marketing Management
- Human Resource Management
- Financial Management
- Management Assistant
Additionally, applicants must provide certified copies (not older than six months) of the following:
- Matric/NCV (NQF Level 4) certificate
- N4 – N6 certificates relevant to their field
- South African Identity Document
Priority Consideration
To support learners already contributing to the sector, preference will be given to students currently volunteering in relevant workplaces. A valid confirmation letter (dated, signed, and stamped by the hosting company) will be required as proof. This ensures recognition for students who have shown initiative and commitment while waiting for formal placement.
How to Apply
Interested candidates must prepare the following documents for submission:
- A recent, updated CV highlighting relevant qualifications
- Originally certified copies of all certificates and ID (not older than six months)
- Proof of volunteer service (if applicable)
This opportunity is strictly for youth under the age of 36 years who meet the requirements and demonstrate the drive to succeed.
