The ETDP SETA Mpumalanga Provincial Office, in partnership with Ehlanzeni TVET College, is offering an exciting opportunity for unemployed youth to participate in the Coded Welding Skills Programme. This initiative is designed to provide learners with both practical and theoretical training that will prepare them for careers as professional coded welders.
Programme Overview
The main purpose of this programme is to equip learners with the ability to operate as skilled coded welders. Participants will be trained to produce welds that meet pre-defined quality criteria under a qualified Welding Procedure Specification (WPS). Learners will gain the skills to produce high-quality welds within a short space of time, adhering to both visual and non-destructive standards, and, where applicable, destructive evaluation acceptance criteria.
Beyond technical welding, participants will also be trained to apply health and safety principles relevant to the welding profession. This programme ensures that learners become competent in producing positional welds using specific processes and materials, aligning with industry requirements.
