The Gauteng Department of Economic Development has partnered with EASTC Technocentric Varsity to roll out an exciting skills development programme aimed at empowering unemployed youth through technical and vocational training. This opportunity is specifically designed to give young people in the City of Tshwane the chance to gain industry-relevant skills in one of South Africa’s growing creative and industrial sectors — the Clothing, Textile, Leather and Footwear (CTLF) sector.
Programme Overview
This Job Training Opportunity is focused on developing the next generation of artisans, designers, and production specialists in the CTLF sector. The 12-month programme will equip participants with hands-on training in clothing manufacturing, textile processing, leather goods production, and footwear design.
Through this collaboration, participants will receive valuable experience and insight into the operations of the textile and manufacturing industry, preparing them for employment or self-employment in this vibrant field.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this training opportunity, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Be a resident of the City of Tshwane and able to commute to the training venue.
- Have at least a Grade 10 education.
- Be currently unemployed.
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in the CTLF sector.
- Be committed to completing the full 12-month training programme.
- Show strong passion for clothing manufacturing, textile processing, leather goods production, and footwear design.
This programme offers a practical foundation for those who are creative and motivated to join the growing textile and design industry.
