Gert Sibande TVET College is a public Technical and Vocational Education and Training institution offering nationally accredited qualifications. The college equips youth with skills that meet labour-market needs, especially in Engineering, Business Studies, Hospitality, Agriculture, and ICT.
By partnering with MQA, the college continues to expand workplace exposure opportunities that help students gain hands-on experience required for national N-Diplomas and long-term employability.
About the Work Integrated Learning Programme
The WIL Programme (09) aims to assist unemployed Engineering graduates to complete their practical requirements and gain real working experience.
The programme is especially targeted at:
- Students who have completed N4–N6 Engineering Studies (Report 191)
- Students needing in-service training for a National Diploma
- Youth who are unemployed, not studying, and not in any training programme
- Students currently volunteering (with valid stamped confirmation letters)
Only Gert Sibande TVET College students may apply.
Programme Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet the following:
Academic Requirements
- Completed Report 191 – Engineering Studies N4 – N6
Age Requirements
- Between 18 and 35 years old
General Requirements
- Must be unemployed
- Must not be studying or planning to study during the placement
- Must not be involved in any training or learnership during placement
- Must have no criminal record
- Proficient in English
- Willing to work in a diverse workplace environment
Priority Considerations
Priority will be given to students who are:
- Currently volunteering (must submit original stamped confirmation letter)
- South African citizens under 36 years
- Unemployed and have never participated in a WIL programme before
Additional Notes
- Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted
- Candidates who fail to honour appointment invitations will be disqualified from future placements
- Applications must be submitted with all necessary certified documents (not older than 6 months)
