What You Will Learn
As a Fitter & Electrical Fitter Apprentice, you will be exposed to various aspects of engineering and plant operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting Qualified Artisans – Work alongside experienced Fitters and Electrical Fitters in maintaining, repairing, and installing machinery.
- Technical Drawing & Schematics – Learn to read and interpret complex technical diagrams that guide equipment assembly and repairs.
- Preventative Maintenance – Participate in routine inspections and tasks designed to extend the life of plant machinery.
- Compliance & Safety – Gain a deep understanding of workplace safety regulations and company-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the 2026 apprenticeship programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics and Physical Science.
- N2 Certificate or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (advantageous).
- Ability to pass internal competency tests.
- Must provide proof of residential address (Lekwa Municipality).
- South African youth under 35 years will be given preference.
