Mpumalanga Premier’s Discretionary Bursary Fund 2026

The Mpumalanga Provincial Government, through the Office of the Premier, is once again opening doors of opportunity for young people across the province. If you are a learner in matric, a recent matric graduate, or a student already enrolled at a recognised tertiary institution, you now stand a chance to benefit from the Premier’s Discretionary Bursary Fund.

This initiative is aimed at providing financial support to academically deserving students from Mpumalanga who show potential but lack the means to pursue further education. The bursary forms part of the government’s commitment to empowering the youth and building a skilled workforce that contributes meaningfully to South Africa’s development.

Who Can Apply?

Applications are invited from:

  • Learners currently in matric (Grade 12).
  • Those who have completed matric but are not yet studying.
  • Students already enrolled at accredited higher education institutions in South Africa.

This wide eligibility ensures that the bursary provides equal opportunities for both fresh school leavers and continuing students who need financial support.
