KwaZulu-Natal CET College Graduate Internship Programme 2025/2026

 

 

The KwaZulu-Natal Community Education and Training (CET) College is calling on unemployed South African graduates to apply for its 2025/2026 Graduate Internship Programme. This initiative, supported by the Department of Higher Education and Training, aims to provide graduates with practical workplace exposure while empowering them to contribute meaningfully to public service.

The programme is specifically open to graduates who hold an NQF Level 7 qualification and have never before participated in any internship funded by the SETAs. With a stipend of R6,000 per month, successful candidates will enter into a fixed 12-month contract, gaining invaluable skills and experience across various fields.

Internship Opportunities and Fields of Exposure

Graduates can apply in the following fields, each with unique roles and responsibilities:

  1. Human Resources Management (Ref: HRM/01/2025)

  • Administer Performance Management & Development Systems (PMDS)
  • Capture PMDS & IQMS on PERSAL systems
  • Assist with leaves, pension applications, and filing
  • General HR administration

Qualification: Advanced Diploma/Degree in Human Resources Management

 

  1. Business Management/Administration (Ref: BM/02/2025)

  • Register and process applications on systems
  • Prepare evaluation certificates, requisitions, and reports
  • Provide administration support for projects
  • Liaise with stakeholders and manage meetings

Qualification: Advanced Diploma/Degree in Business Management/Administration

 

  1. Marketing (Ref: MA/03/2025)

  • Plan and manage publicity material and campaigns
  • Maintain the college brand at events
  • Provide progress reports and feedback
  • Travel for college/dept. promotional events

Qualification: Advanced Diploma/Degree in Marketing

 

  1. General Management (Ref: GA/04/2025)

  • Manage correspondence and workflow
  • Assist with event bookings and meetings
  • Provide admin support for the Chief Directorate
  • Compile submissions, reports, and secretariat duties

Qualification: Advanced Diploma/Degree in Public/Office Management

 

 

  1. Internal Audit (Ref: IA/05/2025)

  • Implement the Risk Management Plan
  • Perform compliance and monitoring duties
  • Conduct follow-ups on Audit Action Plans
  • Assist in secretarial functions for audit committees

Qualification: Advanced Diploma/Degree in Internal Auditing

 

  1. Education (Ref: ED/06/2025)

  • Maintain class attendance and learner records
  • Assist in preparing assessments, tests, and reports
  • Support curriculum alignment with DHET standards
  • Help educators with planning and moderation processes

Qualification: Bachelor of Education

 

  1. Social Science (Ref: SS/07/2025)

  • Link classroom content to community issues
  • Participate in outreach and awareness campaigns
  • Collect local stories to enrich materials
  • Support integration of civic education

Qualification: Advanced Diploma/Degree in Social Science

 

  1. Finance (Ref: F/08/2025)

  • Compile and manage budgets
  • Respond to audit queries and verify payments
  • Capture requisitions and manage quotations
  • Organise BSC, BEC, and BAC meetings

Qualification: BCom in Finance / Advanced Diploma in Cost Management & Accounting / Financial Management

 

  1. Information Technology (Ref: IT/09/2025)

  • Provide IT support (LAN, desktop, servers)
  • Assist with ICT audits and risk management
  • Modify and maintain web pages and graphics
  • Develop and support application solutions

Qualification: Advanced Diploma/Degree in Information Technology

 

  1. Labour Relations (Ref: LR/10/2025)

  • Prepare misconduct and grievance notices
  • Support hearings and capture disciplinary cases
  • Draft investigation reports and track grievances
  • Provide guidance on labour policies

Qualification: Degree in Labour Relations / Industrial Psychology / Labour Law
