The Umhlosinga Development Agency has officially opened its doors to ambitious graduates and N6 students through its Graduate Internship and In-Service Training Programme. This initiative is designed to equip unemployed youth with the practical experience they need to break into the job market, while supporting local development initiatives in the Umkhanyakude District.
Programme Overview
The programme runs for 18 months and offers six placements in total: three at the Mtubatuba Offices and three at the Mkuze Airport. Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R5000, providing financial relief while they gain vital workplace exposure.
This initiative reflects the Agency’s ongoing commitment to skills development and youth empowerment in KwaZulu-Natal, creating pathways to meaningful employment and professional growth.
Graduate Internship Programme
The Graduate Internship stream is targeted at candidates who have completed a Degree or University National Diploma in the following fields:
- Business Management
- Financial Management
- Project Management
- Tourism Management
- Public Management or Public Administration
- Aviation / Transport or Logistics
These internships aim to provide young professionals with industry-specific skills and hands-on training, preparing them for sustainable career opportunities.
In-Service Training Opportunities
The In-Service Training stream is tailored for students who have completed their N6 qualification and need workplace exposure to complete their diploma requirements. The following disciplines are eligible:
- Financial Management
- Business Management
- Project Management
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
Through structured mentorship and professional guidance, learners will have the chance to bridge the gap between classroom theory and practical industry knowledge.
