The Robben Island Museum (RIM), in partnership with the Culture, Arts, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport Sector Education and Training Authority (CATHSSETA), is offering an exciting Graduate Internship Programme. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between higher education and the world of work by providing graduates with structured workplace experience. Through this partnership, RIM continues its role not only as a heritage institution but also as a catalyst for youth empowerment and skills development.
South Africa faces significant challenges with graduate unemployment, and this programme directly addresses the issue by giving young people the professional exposure and mentorship they need. By combining theory with practice, the internships help participants to build confidence, apply their academic learning, and acquire industry-relevant skills that can improve their employability in the long term.
Programme Overview
Successful candidates will sign a twelve (12) month internship contract with RIM. Interns will be placed across various museum departments according to their area of study. The internship is designed to give graduates real work experience, while also equipping them with professional and technical competencies needed in their respective career paths.
