Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Education:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma/National Diploma in the relevant discipline (HR, ICT, Administration, Town Planning, Environmental Health, Social Development, Finance, Water Care, Legal Studies, Electrical Engineering, etc.).
- An academic record confirming completion of theoretical studies and a need for in-service training to graduate.
- For Firefighter Internships:
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Firefighter I and II Courses
- Hazmat Awareness & Operations Certificate
- First Aid Level 3
- General:
- Must be an unemployed South African citizen.
- Must be willing to work in municipal offices and within community-based services.
Placement Structure
Interns will be placed across municipal offices to ensure broad service delivery coverage:
- Corporate Services / Head Office – multiple posts
- Community and Safety Services – Fire & Safety posts
- Planning and Economic Development – 5 posts
- Technical Services – 10 posts
- Satellite Unit Offices – Emanzana, Elukwatini, Empuluzi, and Ekulindeni
This distribution allows interns to serve local communities while receiving mentorship from experienced municipal staff.
