SAIBPP Bursary Programme 2026

SAIBPP Bursary Programme for 2026

Education remains one of the most powerful tools in breaking barriers and empowering future leaders in South Africa. The South African Institute of Black Property Practitioners (SAIBPP) has long been a key driver of transformation in the property and built environment sector. Through its bursary programme, SAIBPP is ensuring that talented young South Africans—particularly those from historically disadvantaged backgrounds—gain access to higher education and opportunities to thrive in this competitive industry. For the 2026 academic year, SAIBPP continues to invest in the future by offering bursaries to deserving students.

About SAIBPP and the Bursary Programme

Founded in 1996, SAIBPP is a non-profit professional organisation dedicated to promoting transformation and inclusivity within the property sector. Its mission is to create a new generation of property professionals who will drive innovation, sustainability, and equitable growth in South Africa’s real estate and built environment industries.

The SAIBPP Bursary Programme is part of the organisation’s broader youth development initiative. It seeks to provide financial assistance, mentorship, and industry exposure to students pursuing property-related qualifications at accredited South African universities and universities of technology.

Fields of Study Covered

The bursary programme focuses on disciplines directly linked to the property value chain and the built environment. These may include, but are not limited to:

  • Real Estate and Property Studies
  • Town and Regional Planning
  • Quantity Surveying
  • Construction Management
  • Architecture
  • Finance and Investment (Property-focused)
  • Civil Engineering (property and infrastructure-related specialisations)

By targeting these fields, SAIBPP ensures that bursary recipients develop the knowledge and skills required to make a meaningful contribution to South Africa’s property sector.

What the Bursary Covers

The SAIBPP bursary is comprehensive and designed to reduce the financial burden on students. Depending on available funding, it typically covers:

  • Full or partial tuition fees
  • Prescribed textbooks and learning materials
  • Accommodation and living allowances (for qualifying students)
  • Mentorship, networking opportunities, and exposure to industry leaders through SAIBPP programmes

This holistic approach ensures that beneficiaries not only receive financial support but also gain access to career development opportunities that give them a competitive edge.

  • “Dear Bursary Committee,

I am writing to apply for a bursary to support my studies in the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) program at the University of South Africa. Unfortunately, I come from a financially challenged background where there are no employed family members, and we rely solely on government support.

Despite the financial constraints, I have remained committed to my studies and achieved academic success. However, without financial assistance, it will be challenging for me to pursue my dream of becoming a lawyer.

Receiving this bursary would greatly assist me in covering my educational expenses, enabling me to focus on my studies and achieve my full potential. I am eager to make a positive impact in my community and contribute to society through my future career in law.

Thank you for considering my application.

    Sincerely,
    WENDY SHIBA

  • Dear Bursary Committee,

I am a Grade 12 learner and I am applying for your bursary programme. I come from a disadvantaged background, living in a poor community, and both of my parents are unemployed. This makes it very difficult for my family to afford my educational expenses, and I am seeking financial assistance to help me continue my studies.

I am determined to work hard and achieve good results so that I can further my education and build a better future for myself and my family. Receiving this bursary will allow me to focus on my studies without the stress of financial difficulties, and I would be very grateful for your support.

    Yours faithfully,
    Kezia Gordon
