This structured developmental programme is designed to provide both internal and external applicants with hands-on experience and technical growth within Seriti’s various collieries in Mpumalanga and the Free State.

Programme Purpose and Learning Outcomes
The internship is developmental in nature, allowing interns to learn through experiential training while contributing to Seriti’s operational excellence. Participants will:
- Present key learnings to operational management teams at the end of each developmental phase.
- Attend prescribed courses, seminars, and development workshops.
- Undertake a project in their second year, to be presented at the completion of the programme.

Requirements for Internal Applicants
For existing Seriti employees, recognition of prior learning is considered. Candidates who already have experience in mining production, geology, or mine planning will be at an advantage. Preference will be given to those who:
- Have started or completed a Strata Control Certificate in Coal.
- Hold strong references from past employers or academic institutions.
- Have proven project experience relevant to their field of study.
- Demonstrate strong theoretical knowledge, maturity, and eagerness to learn.
Additional requirements include:
- Valid driver’s license and Certificate of Fitness (or ability to obtain one).
- Computer literacy (MS Office).

Requirements for External Applicants
For those outside Seriti, applicants must hold one of the following qualifications:
- BSc Engineering (Mining)
- BSc Geology (Hons)
- BEng Tech (Hons)

- Motivation, maturity, and the ability to work independently.
