SANRAL Bursary Programme for 2026

SANRAL Bursary Programme for 2026

The South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) has once again opened its bursary programme for 2026, extending vital support to South African learners and students with strong academic potential and financial need.

Who Is Eligible?

  • South African citizens, under 35 years old.
  • Matriculants with a minimum average of 70%, or university students (undergraduate or postgraduate) maintaining at least 60% overall in their current programme.
  • Registered for full-time study at an approved South African institution, aligned with SANRAL’s critical skills areas.
  • Demonstrating financial need via means‑testing.

What Fields Are Funded?

SANRAL supports critical disciplines—including:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Electronic Engineering
  • Computer or Information Systems
  • Human Resources
  • Public Procurement & Supply Chain Management
  • Environmental Science

Applications are open for both matric students (Grade 12) and those already enrolled at tertiary institutions.

What Does the Bursary Cover?

Depending on household circumstances, SANRAL awards full or partial bursaries:

Full bursary includes:

  • Tuition and registration
  • Accommodation
  • Living allowance and meals
  • Books, stationery, and essential equipment
  • Access to SANRAL’s Wellness Programme

Partial bursary covers:

  • Tuition & registration
  • Accommodation
  • Wellness Programme access

A means test determines how much SANRAL subsidizes, and contributions from the family may be required when applicable.

To submit a strong application:

  1. Complete the SANRAL Online bursary form in full.
  2. Include certified documents, not older than three months:

Why Apply?

  • SANRAL’s bursary doesn’t just ease financial burden—it offers access to mentorship, tutoring, leadership development, and career exposure.
  • Many beneficiaries go on to secure bursaries for tertiary studies, internships, or roles within infrastructure fields. Although a bursary doesn’t guarantee employment at SANRAL, it builds a robust platform for future opportunities.

Our Conclusion:
