Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI) Data Capturer Vacancies (X30 Posts)

The Eastern Cape Department of Education has launched a significant recruitment initiative under the Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI), offering 30 one-year Data Capturer contracts at the Zwelitsha administration hub. With no prior work experience required—just a Grade 12 certificate—this entry-level opportunity aims to empower youth aged 18–34 by equipping them with marketable data skills and a stepping-stone into the public service sector.

Why the BEEI Matters:

Launched in April 2025, BEEI Phase V is a collaboration between the Department of Basic Education and the Department of Employment and Labour, with backing from the IDC. It seeks to provide over 20,000 youth job opportunities in Eastern Cape alone, as part of the national Presidential Employment Stimulus.

By placing youth in schools across their communities—reducing transport barriers—and providing both hard (data systems, MS Office) and soft skills (communication, teamwork), BEEI enhances employability while supporting frontline educational services. It also emphasizes inclusivity, encouraging female and differently-abled youth applications.
