Rate per day: R 325
Contract Duration: Twelve (12) Months fixed term contract

Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve (X6 Posts) Ref: EM/BId/03/25
Mkhombo Nature Reserve (X2 Posts) Ref: EM/Mkh/03/25
Songimvelo Nature Reserve (X3 Posts) Ref: EM/Song/03/25

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To patrol and maintain safety management within the MTPA nature reserves, to educate the surrounding communities concerning environmental management and to collect biodiversity data on protected areas, Law enforcement within the protected areas, man the entrance gates of the reserves.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Field Ranger Law Enforcement Course (Armed / Unarmed) / Environmental Monitor Program
Firearm Competency Certificate from SAPS
Good communication skills
Knowledge of Environmental Management Policies and Legislations
Unemployed individuals, females and males, previously appointed individuals from beneficiaries of CPAs in the Protected Areas will receive first preference

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conducting patrols around the reserve
Ensure safety management within the reserve
Law enforcement and combating poaching
Collect biodiversity data on protected areas
Assist to manage and develop community relationships within the surrounding areas
Alien plant and erosion control
Fence maintenance
General infrastructure protection and maintenance
