SANRAL Learnership Programme for Unemployed Youth for 2025

South Africa’s youth unemployment remains a major national concern—but innovative partnerships like the one between the South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL), the African Global Skills Academy (AGSA), and BoTong Civils are paving new roads to opportunity. Through their collaborative Learnership Programme under CETA (Construction Education and Training Authority), these organisations are equipping unemployed youth with industry-specific training, hands-on experience, and real pathways into South Africa’s infrastructure and civil engineering sectors.

• National Certificate: Construction Contracting Level 2 Certificate
• National Certificate: Building and Construction Level 3
• Further Education and Training Certificate: Supervision of Construction Processes – CETA Level 4

BUILDING SKILLS THAT BUILD THE NATION

At its core, the SANRAL Learnership Programme aims to develop technical competencies and employment readiness among youth, particularly those from historically disadvantaged backgrounds. Through its partnerships with AGSA—a leading training provider focused on high-impact community-based skills—and BoTong Civils, a reputable construction company, the programme ensures that learners benefit from classroom-based training and real-world work experience.

This learnership is aligned with the government’s National Development Plan and supports SANRAL’s commitment to empowering local communities, fostering enterprise development, and enhancing skills transfer in the construction and roadworks sectors.

WHO CAN APPLY?

• Applicants must be between the ages of 18 – 35 years
• Updated Curriculum Vitae
• Certified Matric Certificate / Grade 11 School Report (Dated within 3 months on the day of application)
• Certified ID Copy (Dated within 3 months on the day of application)
• Preference to be given to applicants staying in the Mnquma Local Municipality
• People with Disability are encouraged to apply
• Application not meeting the required criteria, will not be considered

While preference is given to youth, women, and persons living with disabilities, all eligible candidates are encouraged to apply.

WHAT DOES THE LEARNERSHIP OFFER?

Successful applicants benefit from:

• Accredited theoretical training by AGSA in fields such as construction, health and safety, or roadworks
• Practical on-site exposure with BoTong Civils at SANRAL project locations
• A monthly stipend to assist with transport and basic needs
• A nationally recognised qualification or certificate of completion
• Improved employability in both public and private sectors
