REQUIREMENTS:
- Qualification that allows Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council as a Basic Pharmacist Assistant.
- Currently registered with south African pharmacy council of annual fee payment.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical processes, knowledge of relevant legislation and policies, record keeping and basic knowledge of drug supply management.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
DUTIES:
- Appropriate management and inventory control of pharmaceutical items.
- Assist with ordering, receiving and distribution of pharmaceuticals products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitoring of pharmaceutical products using FEFO and FIFO principles to avert medicine expiry.
- Implement the standard operating procedure, good pharmacy practice, norms, and standards.
- Assist in general housekeeping and administration tasks in the pharmacy as specified by the Responsible Pharmacist or supervising pharmacist.
- Pre-packing of medicine in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Collecting of information and assisting in the preparation of prescriptions.
- Complete and maintain documentation.
- Advise and support patients and other health care professionals on pharmaceutical matters.
