With 48 available posts, this programme provides a structured pathway for individuals who are eager to build a career in the fast-paced world of manufacturing.

About the Programme

The Nampak Learnership is designed to combine formal training with practical workplace experience. Successful applicants will attend structured learning sessions at Nampak, supported by Optimum Learning Technologies, before moving into the workplace integration phase. This allows learners to experience real industry conditions while applying the knowledge gained in training.

The manufacturing sector is one of South Africa’s most important industries, and Nampak is a leader in packaging solutions. By joining this learnership, participants will develop key technical and operational skills while being mentored by experienced professionals.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a trainee production operator, you will be immersed in a dynamic environment where you will:

  • Shadow experienced operators to gain first-hand exposure to industry practices.
  • Stand in for operators during rotations to ensure continuous learning and adaptability.
  • Rotate between different roles, promoting flexibility and skills transfer.
  • Adhere strictly to plant rules, regulations, and safety procedures.
  • Take responsibility not only for your own safety but also for the safety of your colleagues.

This hands-on learning structure ensures that by the end of the 12-month programme, learners are competent, adaptable, and ready for employment in manufacturing and related industries.

Duration and Structure

The learnership runs for 12 months, with participants receiving both classroom-based theoretical training and practical workplace experience. The dual structure of the programme ensures learners can bridge the gap between academic study and real-world work readiness.
