POSTS: GENERAL ASSISTANT X16
- TASK GRADE: 05
- ANNUAL BASIC SALARY: R128 193.22 PLUS BENEFITS
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 8 Or ABET Level 03/Higher or relevant qualification
- 06 months related experience in water and sewer reticulation/plumbing.
- Physically able to perform manual labour by hand
- Language proficiency in at least 1 of the four languages of Alfred Nzo District (English, Xhosa, Sesotho & Afrikaans).
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Excavating and backfilling trenches to defined levels using handheld tools
- Laying pipes and laying & coating cement mixes and soil to reinforce structure using handheld tools
- Cleaning & removing blockages, debris and alien vegetation from drainage system and manholes using handheld tools
- Providing support to the artisan plumber during the marking of work area/site holding measuring tapes and inserting level indicators
- Receiving instructions from/guidance from the artisan plumber and attends to the preparation of work site
- Undertake any other task that may be assigned by the supervisor
