End User Computing Learnership Programme for 2025

In a bid to combat youth unemployment and bridge the digital skills gap in South Africa, the Ekurhuleni Artisans & Skills Training Centre (EASTC) has partnered with the Media, Information and Communication Technologies Sector Education and Training Authority (MICT SETA) to offer an exciting End User Computing Learnership Programme. This initiative is a golden opportunity for unemployed youth and entry-level job seekers looking to gain essential computer skills that are critical in today’s tech-driven economy.

WHAT IS THE END USER COMPUTING LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME?

The End User Computing Learnership is a nationally recognized qualification registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF Level 3). It is designed to equip learners with the practical skills needed to use a computer confidently and effectively in a business or office environment. From Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to internet research, data management, and digital communication, learners are empowered with tools that significantly enhance their employability.

The programme runs for 12 months, combining theoretical instruction with practical workplace experience, in line with MICT SETA’s standards. Learners not only receive accredited training but also gain real-world exposure that prepares them for employment in various industries such as administration, IT support, customer service, data capturing, and more.

WHY THIS PARTNERSHIP MATTERS

The partnership between EASTC and MICT SETA is more than just a skills programme; it’s a strategic intervention. Ekurhuleni, like many parts of South Africa, faces challenges around youth unemployment and limited access to quality education. EASTC, a reputable training institution known for its commitment to artisan and vocational training, brings on-the-ground expertise, while MICT SETA ensures the programme is aligned with industry standards and national development goals.

This collaboration aligns with the National Development Plan (NDP 2030), which emphasizes the importance of skills development in achieving economic growth and social transformation. It also supports the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) agenda by ensuring that young South Africans are not left behind in the digital shift.
