What Is the Internship?

This is a 24‑month paid internship based at Ekurhuleni West’s Corporate Centre in Germiston, working directly within the Office of the Principal. Interns play a hands‑on role in implementing the college’s communications and media strategy, from content creation to stakeholder engagement.

POSITION: COMMUNICATION AND MEDIA INTERNSHIP

  • Stipend: R89 408.00 per annum .
  • Duration: 24 Months
  • Campus: Corporate Centre
  • Reference: EWC CC 03/2025

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric;
  • Diploma/Degree in Communications/Public Relations/BA majoring in Communication Science;
  • Essential communications and analytics tools: PowerPoint, Word, Excel.

 

 

Post Description

Communication and Media Intern (in the office of the Principal)

  • Support implementation of media and communications strategy and policies;
  • Develop press releases, media briefs & packs, talking points and speeches;
  • Support the execution of communications plan;
  • Develop content for periodic newsletter, press releases and articles/opinion pieces as required;
  • Support in strengthening EWC TVET communications focal points;
  • Evaluate the success rate of every communication plan through social media analytics;
  • Creating content (written, visual, audio/video);
  • Managing social media platforms;
  • Building relationships with stakeholders and audiences;
  • Analysing communication effectiveness;
  • Coordinating events, campaigns and projects;
  • Conducting research and providing insights.
