Early Childhood Development (ECD) Occupational Qualification Learnership (X100 Posts)

The ETDP SETA hereby offers training opportunities for unemployed persons in the field of Early Childhood Development (ECD). The ETDP SETA seeks to train and develop 100 unemployed persons on the following programme:

Title: Occupational Certificate: Early Childhood Development Practitioner

  • SAQA ID: 97542
  • NQF Level: 4

The training will take place in the following Province and Districts:

Western Cape:

  • City of Cape Town (100) from 31 March 2025 – 31 March 2026

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

National Certificate Vocational (NCV) at NQF Level 3.

The certificate could have been issued by one of the following institutions:

  • Technical, Vocational, Education and Training (TVET) College, or
  • Private Further Education and Training College

Any other NQF Level 3 qualification.

Any other qualification could be one of the following:

  • Credit bearing full qualification certificate/ statement of results for a full qualification at NQF Level 3, OR
  • Grade 11 Progress Report with promotion to Grade 12

 

 

Exclusions:

Practitioners that have completed SAQA 58761: Further education and Training Certificate: Early Childhood Development NQF Level 4 Credits 140

OUTCOMES OF THE PROGRAMME

Practitioners participating in this programme will be able to:

  • Plan and prepare broad-phase learning environment and stimulating activities that meet the holistic needs of all children in centre-based or non-centre-based settings.
  • Facilitate and mediate all aspects of the daily programme in a centre-based or non-centre-based setting.
  • Observe, assess and record each child’s progress.
  • Compile a report of each child’s progress.
  • Maintain and promote the well-being, health, nutrition, safety and protection of children.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Only one application per person
  • Selection will be based on first come first served basis
  • The programme is directed only to the unemployed youth. Applicants may not be in any employment/training/study programme/ or engaged
  • If you are engaged in another project, with another organisation/ employed on a temporary basis, you are not allowed to participate in this project.
