Role Overview

We are seeking for a Retail Sales Agent to support sales performance and deliver a positive in-store customer experience in Cape Town. This role is suited to someone who enjoys engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and helping them make informed purchasing decisions.

The Retail Sales Agent will be responsible for promoting products or services, driving sales, maintaining strong product knowledge, and supporting the smooth operation of the store. Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a professional and welcoming manner

• Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products or services

• Promote current offers, featured products, and in-store campaigns

• Work toward individual and team sales targets on a daily and weekly basis

• Build positive customer relationships that encourage repeat business

• Handle customer questions and provide accurate information about products, pricing, and availability

• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently

• Assist with product displays, merchandising, and store presentation

• Replenish stock on the sales floor and ensure shelves are well maintained

• Monitor inventory levels and report low or damaged stock

• Support the team in maintaining a clean, organised, and customer-ready store

• Resolve routine customer concerns professionally and escalate issues where necessary

• Follow company procedures related to sales, stock handling, cash control, and health and safety

• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve store goals and maintain service standards

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail, sales, customer service, or another customer-facing role

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Confidence in speaking with customers and promoting products or services

• A customer-focused approach with a professional attitude

• Ability to work toward targets and contribute to team sales performance

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail

• Comfortable processing transactions and handling basic retail administration

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy retail environment

• Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards

• Flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays when required

Nice to Have
