- Salary Notch: R417 276.00 Per Annum
- Centres: Mankweng, Pietersburg, Thabamoopo hospitals.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Copy of ID
- Copies of Qualifications Certificates
- Proof of Current registration with HPCSA
- Comprehensive copy of the candidate’s Curriculum Vitae
- Copies of Academic Transcript/Record
- References of two university supervisors
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Written, verbal & report writing and presentation skills.
- Computer literate.
- Knowledge and experience of applied clinical psychology in government hospital environment
- Mental Health Care Act 17 of 2002 and The Medicines and Related Substances Act, Act 101 of 1965 as amended.
- Good record keeping.
- Clinical psychology skills
- Management skills, interpersonal skills, analytical ability
- Coaching and developing people,
- Ability to negotiate and liaise with various role players

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- The internship is divided into four placements of three months rotation between the Mankweng (Child and Family Unit (CFU) & OPD) Pietersburg, and Thabamoopo Hospitals.
- All hospitals have in-patient and out-patient psychological services for adults and children.
- Interns are also exposed to psychiatric patients admitted at the Child and Family Unit (CFU) which is an acute psychiatric ward in Mankweng hospital and forensic assessments and observations at Thabamoopo which is a specialized psychiatric hospital.
- The CFU’s emphasis with regards to the internship training is on practical experience and exposure in the assessment and management of a wide range of adolescents and adult psychiatric conditions, forensic work, and working with a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals.
- Chronic psychiatric patients are admitted at Thabamoopo hospital.
