The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) continues to play a critical role in advancing South Africa’s agricultural sector through innovation, research, and skills development. The organisation has announced two internship Programme at its Vegetable, Industrial and Medicinal Plants (ARC-VIMP) division in Roodeplaat, Pretoria. These positions are ideal for young scientists eager to contribute to world-class research in plant biotechnology and molecular breeding.
About the Internship Programme

Interns will work closely with breeders and researchers to design and implement molecular breeding experiments, contribute to progress reports, and capture and interpret genetic data.
The ARC emphasises not only technical contribution but also knowledge dissemination. Interns will be encouraged to publish peer-reviewed articles, contribute to popular publications, and support intellectual property (IP) and Plant Breeder’s Rights (PBR) initiatives. This ensures that the knowledge generated benefits both the scientific community and the agricultural industry at large.
