What You’ll Be Trained to Do
As a Millwright apprentice, you will progressively develop competence in:
Plant & Equipment Maintenance
- Working on plant, mining, and industrial equipment
- Understanding maintenance documentation systems
- Using work planning and management systems
Mechanical & Electrical Integration
- Applying basic process knowledge per discipline
- Supporting plant sustainability and uptime
- Conducting inspections and maintenance tasks
Safety & Risk Management
- Following Safety Management Systems (IMS, MBO, etc.)
- Identifying hazards and conducting task risk assessments
- Applying emergency procedures correctly
- Participating in toolbox talks and safety meetings
Teamwork & Leadership Development
- Attending daily morning meetings
- Providing progress feedback to supervisors
- Participating in root cause analyses (RCAs)
- Taking the lead in team tasks when appropriate
Professional Growth
- Quarterly performance appraisals
- Identifying personal training needs
- Developing Personal Development Plans (PDPs)
- Learning to act as a future group leader
