About the Barberton Mines Scholarship Programme 2026

The scholarship supports learners entering Grade 8–10 at Hoërskool Barberton in 2026. The programme focuses on academically gifted students, particularly those excelling in:

  • You must be entering Grade 8, 9, or 10 in 2026

The programme does not cover Grade 11–12.

  • You must excel in key subjects

Strong ability in Mathematics, Physical Science and Technology is essential.

  • You must want to attend Hoërskool Barberton

This scholarship only applies to learners accepted at this school.

  • You must have at least 85% overall average (2025 results)

Top academic performance is required.

  • Household income must be below R300 000 per year

Proof of income is required.

  • You must be from a historically disadvantaged background

Preference is given to learners with socio-economic challenges.
